"The Hollinger Park is a perfect place to host the Summer Concert Series with many commercial outlets located nearby. These free concerts in the park will allow residents to enjoy the music from the comfort of their lawn chairs. This event will appeal to families knowing that the age of majority is not required. I want to thank our partner, Midnight Express and our Title Sponsor, Northern Tel. I also want to acknowledge and thank our media partners for getting on board with this project and committing some $40,000 in unpaid media. This kind of support will go a long way at branding the Summer Concert Series, and promoting the 100th Community Anniversaries and our local pool of artistic talent. With your support, I have no doubt that the Summer Concert Series will be a resounding success."

"Members of the City's 100th Community Anniversary Committee are extremely pleased to support another 100th Community Anniversary event and we are confident that the Summer Concert Series will bring the community together once again during the celebration of our city milestones. This type of family event is exactly the type of activity one expects to see during a time of celebration. Our community is blessed with musical talent and that is evident when you listen to the CD produced in celebration of our centennials. For me, the Summer Music Series is a natural extension of the anniversary CD, 100 Years in the Making, Timmins Celebrates its Music, Volume 1 and an opportunity to showcase our homegrown talent" conclude Mayor Laughren.
