Location: Shania Twain Centre
Admission: Cost is $15 for the entire eight weeks
Lego building blocks have been a staple of childhood for ages, but now the Shania Twain Centre is combining that love of building with the city's centennial celebration. A new Lego club is being started in Timmins to be held at the Shania Twain Centre every Saturday for eight weeks beginning in February.
The program is open to children ages six to 10. In addition to encouraging creativity, the program also gets the younger generation involved in the City's 100th anniversary. For one hour every Saturday, the children in the program would be able to create 100thanniversary related structures.
The club is looking for children to participate, but is also sending out a request for Lego blocks people may have that aren't being used.
Walmart and Zellers have committed to donating Legos but more donations are needed.
If you have Legos lying around and their kids do not use them, please bring them to the Shania Twain Centre.
Timing for the program will depend on the availability of Legos as well as the number of children registered. Forms can be faxed to the centre at 360-2682 or dropped off during business hours until Jan. 30.
More information can be found by calling the centre at 360-2619.
