Timmins will be the host site for a health and safety conference geared for the construction industry.

Registrants from all sectors of the construction industry in Timmins and the surrounding area are expected to attend.

It's being put on by the Timmins Regional Labour-Management Joint Health and Safety Committee in conjunction with Northern College and the Timmins Construction Association.

The one-day event is in the early stages of planning.

Some of the topics organizers anticipate being presented include:

* Construction trailers -- what safety material must be inside;

* Workplace violence: identification, policy and program implementation;

* Progressive discipline -- the importance of documentation;

* 2010 Ontario Ministry of Labour monthly blitzes -- what's in store.

The intention is to have 12 different sessions, with three running concurrently so individuals can attend four sessions.
