The winning logo submission was designed by Yohan Larose. The artist incorporated numerous creative elements, creating an artistic representation of the City of Timmins which accurately depicts what the four years of centennials signify.

The Mine shaft, a focal point, symbolizes our city's rich mining heritage, remarkable past, prosperous present and bright future.

The blue band which surrounds the elements represents the Mattagami River. Water often symbolizes life and this element alludes to our city's source of drinking water, electricity and the vital role the Mattagami River played in early forestry and fur trading.

The tree, nestled behind the headframe makes reference to the forestry industry. The contrast of green outlined in white represents summer and winter.

The stylized "T" of the word Timmins, takes the shape of a rock pick, symbolizing the early days of prospecting and the discovery of gold.

The yellow sun with the red outline completes the colour palate. Design elements in yellow, green, blue, black and red are meant to mimic the colours of the Olympic rings signifying our city's cultural diversity.

The core concept of the logo is the dynamic nature of the City of Timmins. Key elements of the design are meant to serve as a reminder of our roots and the spirit of our unique community.
